Philosopher, pioneer, activist. From 1970 to 1972 Margherita von Brentano was a vice president at Freie Universität. She was the first woman to hold this office. A professor of philosophy, she fought against discrimination against women in the workplace, especially against their exclusion from leadership positions at universities. In 2016, the Center for Gender Studies at Freie Universität was named after her.
