The X windowing protocol is sometimes blocked by firewalls and working with exhosts + ... represents a security problem. For this reason, users should login with ssh using the option -X:

ssh -X YOUR_USERNAME@soroban.zedat.fu-berlin.de

to enable X forwarding.

module add gaussview

has been entered on the command line, Gaussview 5 for gaussian 09 can be started by running gview.

After

module purge
module load shared gaussian

has been entered on the command line, Gaussview 6 for gaussian 16 can be started by running gv.
