Join us for a powerful performance and discussion on scientific freedom at the Berlin Science Week.
The event will commence with a thought-provoking performance of the theater project Hidden Research, followed by an expert input of Dr. Sergei Akopov, Walter Benjamin Research Fellow, Cluster of Excellence “Contestations of the Liberal Script”, and a discussion with the audience. The performance draws upon interviews with at risk and refugee scholars from around the globe and features powerful narratives that highlight the unique challenges these researchers encounter, such as persecution, displacement, and the struggle to continue their vital work in the face of adversity. By bringing these stories to life, the performance will serve as a poignant reminder of the stakes involved in defending academic freedom and the pursuit of knowledge.
