Dr. Ewa Sułek is an art historian, curator, sculptor, and writer, author of two books, award-winning short stories, and dramatic works. Her research explores contemporary Ukrainian art with a keen focus on themes of memory, loss, displacement, the body, gender, and postcolonial perspectives.
Ewa has been recognized with prestigious honors, including the Fulbright Junior Research Award at the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute and a visiting research position at the University of Cambridge Ukrainian Studies. She also served as a DAAD PRIME postdoctoral fellow at Harvard’s Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies and the Institute for East European Studies at Freie Universität Berlin.
Currently, as a Humboldt Research Postdoctoral Fellow, she continues her scholarly work at the Ost-Europa Institute.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Ewa co-founded the Lescer Art Center in Zalesie Gorne, Poland, and the Ukrainian Environmental Humanities Network, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and cultural exchange.
