Are you passionate about global change and eager to advance your career in international cooperation? Then apply for the Postgraduate Programme 2026 at the Centre for Rural Development (SLE) of Humboldt University Berlin!

Since 2024, the entire programme has been conducted in English, making it accessible to participants from around the world.

The practice-oriented training is designed for Master's graduates from all disciplines relevant to international cooperation. You will strengthen your expertise, work on hands-on case studies, and gain practical experience through a practice-oriented project in a partner country, as part of the Joint International Research Projects (JIRP).

Learning within a diverse and interdisciplinary group is a core part of the program – you will benefit from peer-to-peer exchange, foster reflexivity, and grow through shared perspectives and experiences in an international team.

Application period: 1st May – 30th June 2025
Program duration: 12 months, including a practice-oriented project in a partner country
Scholarship: €1,300/month, with additional child allowance available

Who can apply?
Graduates with strong academic records, very good English skills, a strong interest in development cooperation, and relevant international experience (e.g. internships abroad). Applicants must be citizens of an EU member state or a country listed on the OECD DAC list of ODA recipients.
