On November 10th, the DAAD Cairo Office organised its 19th annual Study Information Day for students of the six German schools across Egypt. Freie Universität Berlin was once again proud to participate, offering valuable insights into academic life and study opportunities in Berlin.

In response to the growing student interest, FU Berlin enhanced its usual contribution by offering not only general information sessions but also a series of subject-specific presentations focusing on:

• Health Sciences: Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine and Psychology

• Computer Science/Bioinformatics

• Business Administration/Economics

• Law

• General Overview: Two sessions providing broad insights into study options and university life in Berlin

The tremendous interest in FU Berlin was evident not only in the fully attended sessions, but also throughout the day at the university’s booth. Many students approached us with detailed questions about study pathways, admission requirements, language prerequisites, and daily life as a student in Berlin. Their engagement once again demonstrated how attractive and relevant German higher education—especially at FU Berlin—continues to be for young people in Egypt.

Freie Universität Berlin was represented by Hoda El Mahgoub, Head of the Cairo Liaison Office, Sebastian Mebes from the Academic Advising Office, Alexandra Bährenfeldt from the International Office of the Faculty of Law, and Julie Fischer, student at Freie Universität Berlin and intern at the Cairo Liaison Office. Their combined expertise ensured that prospective applicants received accurate, engaging, and tailored guidance throughout the event.

The high level of enthusiasm from students made this year’s Study Information Day a great success. We look forward to continuing to support future students on their path to studying at Freie Universität Berlin and to strengthening our cooperation with German schools across Egypt.
