"Watersheds of Internationalization?" # 6: Debating the future of international research marketing and communication
This sixth event in the series of “FUB Lunch-time Debates on the Future of Higher Education Internationalization” will focus on the question which direction international research marketing will take in the future.
- With the experiences of accelerated digitilization, but also the various experiences institutions made during the pandemic, which will be the way forward to advocate for research?
- What is the strongest selling point: an institutional brand? A country’s research profile? Or the individual topic, independent of any institution?
- Is good science communication the new research marketing? Or are specialized branding approaches needed?
- Is marketing for a national system outdated, since only global collaboration will bring us forward? Is there (still) such a thing as a national research identity?
- How can the competition between countries for best talent (and money) be balanced with the need for transnational and transversal collaboration?
- Which criteria will make it onto the shortlist of young researchers: reliance, resilience, transparency, responsibility, good scientific practice, freedom of research, advisory activity towards society and politics?
