How high is the Erasmus financial support?
Studying abroad generally incurs additionally costs compared to the cost of living in your home country. The Erasmus mobility grant is designed to cover a part of these additional costs. Financial support varies depending on the different living costs in the program countries.
The European Commission divides the program countries into three groups. The DAAD determines three monthly funding groups:

The funding period of the Erasmus+ grant corresponds to the length of stay at the host university. The grant is comprised of two parts: a financial support and a zero-grant-funding. The amount of monthly installments and the duration of the financial support or zero-grant-funding is redefined for each academic year.
In the academic year 2018/19, zero-grant-funding is 5 days, which means that 5 days of the study period at the host university are not funded. The amount of zero-grant-funding for the upcoming academic year will be determined in July 2019.
