Prospective students who obtained their university entrance qualifications outside of the German system and wish to pursue an undergraduate degree at Freie Universität Berlin generally have to apply for a preliminary review documentation certificate (Vorprüfungsdokumentation, VPD) via uni-assist. The VPD has to be uploaded along with other application documents via Freie Universität Berlin’s application portal before the application deadline. Freie Universität Berlin only accepts applications submitted via its application portal that include a valid VPD issued specifically for Freie Universität Berlin.

Different regulations apply to applicants from EU member states who wish to study pharmacy or veterinary medicine.
