Deadlines for Applying, Registering, and Enrolling

Please find the deadlines for the summer semester 2026 here.

Important note for international applicants with non-german university entrance qualifications:
The same deadlines apply to all applications with non-german educational qualifications (see below). In addition to your application, you must apply for a VPD (Vorprüfungsdokumentation, preliminary review documentation) at uni-assist. Please apply for the VPD as early as possible, as processing can take several weeks. All information about the VPD for bachelor's and master's degrees, as well as the VPD-FAQ, can be found on our website.

Undergraduate Degree Programs

  • Degree programs with one subject (“Mono bachelor”) and state examination degree programs

Applications for degree programs with limited admission:

From December 1, 2025, through January 15, 2026

Formal notifications of admission will be sent out from mid-February 2026 onward. Please consult the formal notification of admission for further information, as this will state the deadlines for accepting your study placement and for enrollment.

Applications for degree programs with unrestricted admission:

From December 1, 2025, through March 1, 2026

Formal notifications to enroll will be sent out gradually throughout the application period. Please consult the formal notification of admission for further information, as this will state the deadline for accepting your study placement.

  • Combined bachelor’s degree programs (“Combi bachelor”)

Applications where at least one component (core subject or additional module[s]) has limited admission:

From December 1, 2025, through January 15, 2026

Formal notifications of admission will be sent out from mid-February 2026 onward. Please consult the formal notification of admission for further information, as this will state the deadlines for accepting your study placement and for enrollment.

Applications where all components have unrestricted admission:

From December 1, 2025, through March 1, 2026

Formal notifications to enroll will be sent out gradually throughout the application period. Please consult the formal notification of admission for further information, as this will state the deadline for accepting your study placement.

  • Applications for reviews of documentation from applicants with professional/vocational school qualifications or occupational training: From December 1, 2025, through May 31, 2026
  • The usual deadlines for undergraduate degree programs apply to applicants who have professional/vocational school qualifications or occupational training.
  • Deadlines for the admission exam for applicants with professional/vocational school qualifications or occupational training and for preparatory courses can be found on the Studienkolleg website.

  • Applications for undergraduate degree programs are only accepted in the run-up to the winter semester and are open from June 1, 2026, onward via uni-assist.
  • You can find further information regarding the entrance exam on the Studienkolleg website.
  • Applications for external assessment exams or additional exams are possible for the summer semester. Please check the Studienkolleg website directly

  • Final deadline April 7, 2026

Master’s Degree Programs

  • Applications for master’s degree programs

From December 1, 2025, through January 15, 2026

This application period applies for all semesters within the master’s degree program.

Formal notifications of admission will be sent out from mid-February 2026 onward. Please consult the formal notification of admission for further information, as this will state the deadlines for accepting your study placement and for enrollment..

  • Lottery procedure

From February 1, 2026, through February 10, 2026

A lottery procedure only takes place if there are still study places available after the admission procedures have been completed. You can find further information and places on degree programs offered via the lottery procedure on the lottery procedure website.

  • Application deadlines for continuing education master’s degree programs:

School Development in Line with Teaching of Democratic Principles and Social Skills:

Applications are only accepted in the run-up to the winter semester and are open from April 15, 2026, through August 31, 2026

European and International Business, Competition, and Regulatory Law:

Applications are only accepted in the run-up to the winter semester and are open from December 1, 2025, through March 15, 2026.

Futures Studies:

Applications are only accepted in the run-up to the winter semester and are open from April 15, 2026, through June 30, 2026.
