Your scholarship award letter will state who your sponsor is. You can get in touch with the Deutschlandstipendium Office if you would like to receive more information about your sponsor (e.g., contact details). Please note that some sponsors may wish to remain anonymous.

The German Federal Government pays for half of your Deutschlandstipendium scholarship while the other half is donated by your private sponsor. The funding program lasts a minimum of one year.

All sponsors like to be introduced to the latest cohort of students they will be supporting through the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship. If you like, you can send your sponsor a greeting card with a thank-you note by post or by email with a brief summary of who you are and what you are doing at university.

The scholarship award ceremony is also the perfect opportunity to get to know your sponsor in person.

Some sponsors organize special events specifically for their scholarship recipients. You will be sent further information about these from your sponsor. We strongly recommend that you take part in these events, although you are not required to attend them in order to continue receiving the scholarship.
