New Scholarship Recipients
Sending Your Declaration of Acceptance:
Please send us your signed declaration of acceptance via email as soon as possible if you would like to accept the scholarship. Fill out the declaration of acceptance electronically and sign it by hand. Then send us a scan of your signed declaration of acceptance via email to deutschlandstipendium@fu-berlin.de.
The deadline for sending us your declaration of acceptance is two weeks from the date of the scholarship award letter at the latest.
Notifying Us of Changes to Personal Information Relevant to the Scholarship:
Please contact us if your personal information has changed or there have been any other changes relevant to your studies. You can find out which changes you must notify us about here.
Your scholarship award letter will tell you from when you will receive Deutschlandstipendium funding. The 300 euros will be paid out on a monthly basis and will usually be deducted from our account on the first working day of the month. This means that the sum should appear in your account a short time later. Your scholarship will be paid retroactively if the date from which you are meant to receive funding as stated in your scholarship award letter is in the past.
You are more than welcome to get in touch with your sponsor by email or post to thank them for their support.
Please send a brief email to deutschlandstipendium@fu-berlin.de to get your sponsor’s contact details.
We expect new scholarship recipients as well as students who are still receiving funding through the Deutschlandstipendium to attend the award ceremony, as it gives you the opportunity to meet the sponsors who have made your scholarship possible. You will also receive your scholarship certificate at the celebration. You are exempt from attending the ceremony if you are spending your semester abroad or cannot participate for well-founded personal reasons.
Please notify us in good time if you are unable to attend.
The scholarship award ceremony is an annual social event at which sponsors, scholarship recipients, and representatives from the university come together to welcome new scholarship recipients and celebrate. Students who are still receiving funding from the program are also warmly invited to the event. Your sponsor will present you with your scholarship certificate after the main ceremony program. This is followed by a reception where you can chat to your sponsor and other scholarship recipients.
The scholarship award ceremony is a fantastic opportunity for all new and existing scholarship recipients to get to know each other. The events that make up our supporting program for the Deutschlandstipendium are also a great way to meet other scholarship recipients. You are also more than welcome to join the “Stammtisch” (meet-up) specially for scholarship recipients held once every semester.
People who fund one or more Deutschlandstipendium scholarships often prefer not to publicly disclose their support. Your scholarship award letter will indicate whether or not you are being funded by an anonymous sponsor. If you would like to send a greeting card or thank-you card to your sponsor, then feel free to hand it in to the Deutschlandstipendium Office. We will be more than happy to forward your token of appreciation.
You can collect your scholarship certificate from the Deutschlandstipendium Office during our office hours.
