For over 25 years, Europe has been funding the Erasmus programme, which has enabled over 3 million students attending European universities to spend part of their studies at another university in Europe. Erasmus+ is now extending this opportunity and enabling mobility projects from or to other countries around the world.
The Erasmus+ programme also supports internships (in Europe und in non-European countries) and staff mobility projects (for teaching and training purposes in Europe and beyond).
Erasmus+ students enjoy the following benefits
- Tuition fee waiver at the host university
- financial support for living abroad in the form of a mobility grant for the duration of the study period abroad
- Support in the preparation and implementation of the stay (cultural, linguistic, organisational) by the home university and the host university abroad
- Academic recognition of study achievements abroad through Learning Agreement and ECTS points system
The obligations and rights of students in the Erasmus+ programme are regulated in the Erasmus Student Charter (PDF in German).
