Purpose of the Survey
The (bachelor’s) degree program survey is an important tool used to gather information on how to improve the degree programs, services, and support on offer at Freie Universität Berlin. The results are used to inform discussions and decision-making processes at all levels of the university, including the Academic Senate, dean’s offices, and the councils and committees in charge of teaching matters within individual departments. Here, the ultimate aim is to offer you the best education possible and provide you with optimal conditions to succeed in your studies.
The main focus of the survey is to gauge student opinion regarding how the degree programs are structured and what support services are on offer. Both aspects are important when it comes to determining student satisfaction and how feasible it is to complete the degree programs in the allotted time. As such, the survey represents an important quality assurance tool.
Carrying out internal surveys is one of the instruments used for quality management purposes at Freie Universität Berlin. The bachelor’s degree program survey has been carried out every four years since 2006. Due to the restructuring of the degree program, law students are also invited to participate in the survey.
The results of the survey will be compiled and made into a report that should be published on this website in the 2025 summer semester. You can also visit the site for the reports on the results of previous surveys. The reports are in German only.
