In 1959, the most modern student dormitory in Berlin opened in Schlachtensee. People from all over the world have lived together there, learned, argued, celebrated, and made lifelong friendships. Once threatened by plans to be demolished, the building was then acquired by a cooperative and now stands as a dazzling example of post-war modernist architecture.
