Sam Chandola
Originally from New Delhi, Samarth Chandola studied at Freie Universität on an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship. He later moved to Canada where he began his career as a startup entrepreneur in Vancouver, British Columbia.
What special memory/memories do you have from your time at Freie Universität?
Sitting in "The Brain" (the library) and playing World of Warcraft from the university's really fast internet connection. :)
Jokes aside, my most special memory is the willingness of the university to accommodate and recognize my international credits, and allow me to get my Bachelors from the University. That truly shows the commitment of the university to providing quality education without consideration for borders.
What is the most important thing you learned here?
Studying at Freie Universität and living on my own taught me a lot of essential skills around what it means to be an adult and learn how to be responsible. I often say that I entered Freie Universität a boy and left as a man.
Which advice would you give your younger self today?
Try not to do everything on our own and be open a lot more to involving other people in your projects. Alone, you can go fast. But together, you can go far.
If I could give Freie Universität a present…
I was able to attend Freie Universität because of a scholarship offered to me by the Erasmus Mundus Programme and the European Union. If I was able to, I would give Freie University a scholarship fund to allow deserving and bright students a chance to attend this amazing institution.
