Mental Wellbeing at Freie Universität
Our aim is to promote the wellbeing of students and staff at Freie Universität.
At our network of support.points at different locations all across Freie Universität's campuses we offer short-term psychological counseling for all members of our university community. We aim to provide consultations on all topics related to student and staff wellbeing and mental health that are quickly and easily accessible. Counselling is available in German and English (and at some locations in additional languages).
We work in close collaboration with Freie Universität's Psychological Counseling Center.
Our support.point counselors are trained psychologists or psychotherapists. In a first session, we aim to identify the issue and develop initial solutions. If necessary, we can refer you to other counseling services inside and outside the university.
A consultation during our open consultations normally takes up to 30 minutes.
Sometimes such a first conversation is enough. If you need further assistance, our counselors will let you know about further support options within and outside the university.
Consultations are strictly confidential and sessions can also be conducted anonymously.
In addition, we want to support you with information, practical advice and online tools to address issues such as stress-related symptoms, test anxiety or time management. For this, please also have a look at the "Tips/Information" section of our website.
We also offer a range of different workshops and events each semester.
We welcome any inquiries, comments or ideas. Feel free to contact us at our email below.
The support.point network is an initiative of the Center for Academic Advising and Psychological Counseling in cooperation with the departments to build a psychosocial support network on campus.
