G’day from the Study Abroad Fair Circuit in Australia!
Promoting global exchange opportunities
Apr 17, 2025
On April 10, 11, and 14, Freie Universität was represented at the Study Abroad Fair Circuit with events at the University of New South Wales, the Western Sydney University, and the University of Sydney. The Study Abroad Fairs invite representatives from partner universities all over the world to inform Australian students about their opportunities to study abroad via direct exchange or short-term programs like summer and winter schools.
The University of New South Wales set up their fair on their Kensington Campus in the John Niland Scientia Building, with its big, modern halls hosting different regions of the world. Many exhibitors brought tokens from their countries, like plushies, stickers, and stationery. The University of Western Sydney invited us to their Parramatta Campus, a suburb of Sydney that is a short train ride away from the Central Business District. The campus is very green and created a welcoming atmosphere, and the global team of the university shared our enthusiasm in promoting exchange opportunities. The University of Sydney set up their fair in tents on the main university walkway. Many staff members and student volunteers supported us guests from abroad in managing our stalls and answering the students’ questions. All universities also offered a supplementary program with campus and accommodation tours, lunch, refreshments, and networking opportunities.
Frequent questions include the availability of specific subjects or classes in English, the compatibility of term and semester dates in the Northern and Southern hemisphere, and the lifestyle in Berlin. If you are interested in direct exchange programs, click here for more information about going abroad and coming to Freie Universität Berlin. Beyond these three Sydney-based universities, FUB entertains exchange opportunities with the Australian National University Canberra, Monash University Melbourne, and the University of Melbourne.
Thank you to our partners in Australia for having us!
