Deregistration
Have you successfully completed your studies or have you decided not to move forward with your degree program? If so, you can submit an application for deregistration via the Self-Services portal.
The Student Administration Office can also remove students from the register of students for official reasons, for example, if you do not fulfill the requirements for registration renewal or if you have failed your final examination attempt.
Once you have deregistered you will no longer be considered a member of Freie Universität Berlin, and your rights and obligations as a student will cease to apply. You should give sufficient thought as to whether you really want to deregister, as it will mean that you give up your place on your degree program.
Please note: Your Freie Universität Berlin account will be deleted approximately one week after you officially deregister. Access to the following systems at Freie Universität Berlin will be rescinded:• Student email address
• Self-Services portal, including all documents and degree certificates
• Campus Management
• Library services
Please make sure to download all degree certificates from the Self-Services portal in good time, including your deregistration certificate and/or notification of removal from the register of students, as you will be required to pay a fee for any replacement certificates that you request at a later date.
