GPA: B or 3.0/4.0 (corresponds to 2,0 in the German scale)

Duration: Mid September - End of March (2 quarters) or until mid June (3 quarters or 1 academic year) or from January - June (2 quarters). Exception: UC Berkeley and UC Merced from mid August - mid May.

Students who would like to spend their semester/year abroad at one of our partner universities in California will -- if their application is successful -- be nominated for the UC System. There will be an additional application process afterwards, conducted by the UC System itself, in which the campus you will be sent to in California is decided.

Attention: Business and Economics students should take the course "Introduction to Economics" during their first two semesters at Freie Universitaet Berlin. This is very important. When applying for the University of California System this course covers the basics of micro- as well as macroeconomics.

Applications for one semester only need one letter of recommendation.
