Language Requirements:

Language Certificates for the English-Asia Program: CEFR: B2 (internal FU language certificate)

Language Certificates for the Chinese-China Program:

For Chinese language courses: No specific language level is required.
For BA/MA courses taught in Chinese: Chinese HSK 6 (with more than 70 points in each section) or an equivalent level.

At the time of application, proof of English proficiency is not required. Some courses may require an English language certificate, which can be submitted later.

Duration: August - January OR late February - July

Attention!

In general, applicants with Chinese citizenship cannot participate in exchange programs with the PR China, but only apply for Taiwanese partner universities.

The Peking University requires a GPA of 3.5-4.0 (FU: 2,0)

Program: English-Speaking:

Undergraduate students have the option to 1) either pick only courses that are taught in English or 2) study a combination of courses taught in English (undergrad) with up to 6 credits worth and Chinese language courses.

Master students usually concentrate on their research under the supervision of PKU professors. Master courses are not open for exchange students.

Program: Chinese-Speaking:

The range of subjects includes those represented in the Arts and Sciences departments. Chinese language courses are offered at the School of Chinese as a Second Language as well as specialized courses for BA students. Most courses are offered in Chinese (http://dean.pku.edu.cn/jiaoxuejihua/kcbxs.php?II=1), only a few in English (see http://dean.pku.edu.cn/englishcourses/index.html).

Master students can conduct research under the guidance of a professor (Senior Visiting Student Program). Exchange students can only take Master's courses with the permission of PKU.

Peking University offers free accomodation in a double room and a monthly scholarship for two students. Estimated scholarship: 1000 yuan/month (BA), 1200 yuan/month (MA).
