Call for Contribution for PhD Workshop I "Environmental Politics"
This PhD workshop on April 04-05, 2019 will explore questions related to the politics and conflicts that emerge around environmental issues and natural resources.

Organized by Prof. Itay Fishhendler (HUJI) and Prof. Kathryn Harrison (UBC), the topics covered in the workshop may include a diversity of questions including the factors that drive disputes over environmental issues; the political behaviors that actors undertake to influence political outcomes such as coalition building, narrative framing contests, lobbying; the negotiation or collaboration strategies that are used to address political debates, and determinants of policy choice.
Attention by the panelists to the expansion or development of existing and new theories, as well as new empirical approaches for understanding the behaviors, processes, and outcomes of environmental politics will be encouraged.
Call for abstracts: We invite PhD candidates specializing in sustainability-related research to apply. Abstracts (max. 500 words) for the PhD Workshop “Environmental Politics” outlining the aims and methods of individual papers should be sent to Itay Fishhendler, Itay.Fishhendler@mail.huji.ac.il and Kathryn Harrison, Kathryn.Harrison@ubc.ca. Selected participants will be asked to prepare a twenty-minute presentation. Please state your name, research topic, affiliation and full contact details.

The Ph.D. Workshops are part of the Spring Campus Conference of the University Alliance for Sustainability. They are organized in cooperation with UNA Europa, a European network of universities, of which Freie Universität Berlin is a partner. PhD Candidates from the UAS and UNA partner universities will be thematically grouped in two parallel running workshops – please indicate the title of the PhD workshop in your application.
