FUturist

The FUturist call for proposals annually supports ideas that make a direct contribution to the goals of our climate emergency declaration or our sustainability mission statement. They are problem-based and solution-oriented. They are characterized by their novelty and have a positive impact on shaping sustainable development at Freie Universität Berlin.

On January 30, 2025, this year's jury selected five project ideas for funding. At the midterm event on June 19, 2025 the funded teams presented their interim project result. They are now completing their FUturist year. We would like to thank all five project teams for their commitment to proactively promoting social and environmental improvements at our university! The selection process for the fifth call for proposals has been underway since December 1. The new FUturist jury, composed of Prof. Dr. Verena Blechinger-Talcott, Dr. Christina Bochow, JunProf. Dr. Luisa Girnus, Dr. Katharina Kuse, Ali Sahan, and Anne Sedlmayer, as well as the Sustainability and Energy Unit, would like to thank all applicants for their submissions. All applicants will be informed of the funding decision during the week of January 19-23, 2026.
