"National climate protection initiative: FUturrad - Bicycle-friendly Campus Freie Universität Berlin"

The Unit for Sustainability & Energy Management has successfully obtained project funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action  (BMWK). The funding program: "Climate Protection through Cycling" provides funding for bicycle parking facilities and the procurement of company bicycles. For the period 2025 to 2027, it is planned to support the increasing interest in sustainable mobility among FU members with targeted measures for a bicycle-friendly campus.. This includes the following measures:

• Procurement of 20 e-cargo bikes
• Procurement of 35 company bicycles
• Installation of 634 bicycle racks/bicycle parking facilities on the Dahlem, Lankwitz and Düppel campuses
• Installation of bicycle shelters on the Lankwitz and Düppel campuses
• Workshops, public relations and monitoring during the project period
