Ms. Rieger received her Ph.D. in German Literature from the University of Washington in 2001, her M.A. in German Literature, Sociology and History from Universität Regensburg in 1995, and her M.A. in German Literature from Vanderbilt University in 1993. She has coordinated the German Language Program and teaching language and cultural studies courses at McGill University since 2008. She joined Freie Universität Berlin International Summer and Winter University (FUBiS) in 2012 and participates in the coordination of FUBiS’ German language courses since 2013. From 2014 to 2016 she taught German language courses at FU-BEST. Previously, she taught various courses and coordinated the German Language program at Harvard University from 2000 to 2007 and also taught at M.I.T. in 2007-2008. Her interests include foreign language pedagogy, Berlin literature and film as well as Arab-German writers.
