Dr. Emily Frank

Dr. Emily Frank is a postdoctoral researcher at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center and the Einstein Centre Population Diversity. Her research focuses on how immigrants' encounters with the state affect their mental health and well-being. In her dissertation, she examined the differential inclusion of refugees in access to the welfare state and labor market, while in her postdoc she is expanding to other policy areas including asylum and family reunification. She completed her PhD at DYNAMICS, a joint programme of the Hertie School and Humboldt University Berlin, and also worked as a research associate at the Berlin Institute for Migration and Integration Research (BIM), Humboldt University Berlin. In addition to her research, she is engaged in a research ethics taskforce and activism.
