Dr. Andreas Weiß is an expert on transnational and -cultural contacts between Europe and Asia and the „modernisation“ process of European societies. His areas of specialisation are German and British cultural and social history of the nineteenth and twentieth century, the foreign policy of the European Communities, the history of the European integration and the question of European identity. At the moment he works on an attempt to establish a multipolar world order during the Cold War.

He worked at the Humboldt University of Berlin, FUBis, CIEE Berlin, the Georg-Eckert-Institute in Braunschweig, the Helmut Schmidt University, Hamburg, and was a Research Fellow at the UCL London.

Mr. Weiß has taught various courses in History and Sociology in Berlin, Braunschweig and Hamburg (Germany) as well as in Portsmouth (England).
