Carina studied philosophy, social sciences, history and German literature at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, the Queen Mary University of London and the University of Iceland in Reykjavik. Her fields of interest lie in social, political and feminist philosophy, especially in Critical Theory, materialist feminism, the history of philosophy, theories and politics of remembrance, critical race theory and theories on nationalism. She received her MA in philosophy from the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin with a thesis on “What is political remembrance?”, where she examined the revolutionary potential of history for current political struggles in the work of Walter Benjamin. During her studies at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin she also worked part-time as a teaching assistant for the chair of social philosophy.
Carina followed different projects after her graduation, working as an editor and translator, as a city guide with focus on the history of WWII and in political education as a member of the feminist philosophy collective “SALT”. Carina currently works in politics and is writing a PhD proposal on nationalism in philosophy.
