The German Research Foundation (DFG) has approved a second funding period for the Doctoral Research Training Group 1512: “Normativity, Critique, Change” at the Department of Philosphy and Humanities. From the press release of Freie Universität: "This highly interdisciplinary Research Training Group, jointly run by Freie Universität Berlin (FU), Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU) and the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK), brings together diverse perspectives on the application of norms in law, language, morality, religion and the arts. Doctoral researchers examine, in various contexts within these fields, the relationship between normativity, critique and change: How do normative standards emerge and how are they further developed? What role is played by critique and continual transformation? How, within normative structures, can rigid routines be disrupted and spaces for freedom be opened up?"
