Call for Applications: DHC-Netzwerke

In 2026, the Dahlem Humanities Center will fund up to five interdisciplinary networks that aim to explore future-oriented topics and research fields in the humanities.

News from Jul 16, 2025

The Dahlem Humanities Center supports humanities scholars at Freie Universität in exchanging ideas with colleagues at different career levels on specific topics, in developing joint perspectives, organizing events, and inviting guests for this purpose. The activities should aim to develop a third-party funded project in the medium term.

The DHC-Netzwerke (networks) are intended to stimulate dialog between humanities scholars and promote long-term collaboration at Freie Universität Berlin under flexible conditions. Each network is supported with up to 5000,- EUR for activities that serve the exchange and concretization of research interests or the strengthening of certain research areas. The funds can be drawn down over a period of 2 years. The DHC offers administrative support for the organization and implementation of activities.

Professors from the departments of History and Cultural Studies as well as Philosophy and Humanities are eligible to apply. Existing DHC-Netzwerke cannot receive further funding. A report must be submitted after completion of the activities within the DHC Netzwerk.

Deadline for submissions: 13 October, 2025
