With the DHC-Netzwerke (networks), the Dahlem Humanities Center supports humanities scholars at Freie Universität in exchanging ideas on specific topics with colleagues at different career levels, in developing common perspectives, and in holding events and inviting guests for this purpose. The activities should aim to develop a third-party funded project in the medium term.
DHC-Netzwerke aim to stimulate dialogue between scholars in the humanities and to promote long-term collaborations at Freie Universität Berlin under flexible conditions. Each network is supported with up to 5,000 euros for measures that serve the exchange and concretization of research interests or the strengthening of specific research areas. The funds can be used over a period of 2 years. The DHC provides administrative support for the organization and implementation of the activities.
Professors of the departments of Geschichts- und Kulturwissenschaften and Philosophie und Geisteswissenschaften are eligible to apply. Continued funding of DHC-Netzwerke of the previous funding phase is not possible. A report must be submitted at the end of the activities within the DHC-Netzwerk.
