Documents on Social Background

The selection process considers a variety of personal and family-related aspects when evaluating applications. But in order for them to be factored into the decision, you need to provide specific documentation for some of them to proof your particular situation.

Care of family members

Please upload proof of the need for care and a description of the extent to which the person in need of care is supported. (e.g. care level, medical certificate, etc.)

Proof of chronic illness/disability

Please submit a copy of your disability identification card or a doctor’s note.

Proof of childcare responsibilities

Please upload a copy of your child’s birth certificate or some other proof of parenthood.

Refugee status

Please submit a document issued by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) that indicates your resident permit status or that shows you are currently seeking asylum.

Vocational Training Certificates

Please submit any relevant diplomas or graduation certificates.

Non-traditional university qualification (“zweiter Bildungsweg”)

Please submit any relevant diplomas or graduation certificates.
