Questions regarding an application in the Dialog-Oriented Service Procedure (DoSV)

Applicants receive an applicant identification number (applicant ID) as well as an authentication number (BAN) during the registration process at http://www.hochschulstart.de. You can view both numbers via your Hochschulstart account using the tab “Meine Daten / my data”. These personal identification numbers are necessary for the further application process.

You have received your username via email. Please check your account.

In case you have deleted it, you can send us an email with the subject “forgot user name” to zulassung@fu-berlin.de.

Please state the following, complete data: name, first name, date of birth, address and course of study for which you have applied. We will send you your user name to the email address you have stated during your registration via Hochschulstart.

You have already signed up for theapplication portal of Freie Universität Berlin and must not create a further account. Please sign up using the login field on the homepage top right. You have received your username by email.

Please check if you are using the correct username to log in. You received your username by email. You can change the password yourself.

Please sign up again for the application portal of Freie Universität Berlin. The registration data of past semesters were deleted. If your BID is still valid, it can be used for a new registration.

Please note not to use any capitals when entering you username.

Please go to www.hochschulstart.de and select the button “application portal”. You have the possibility to request your username and to reset your password.

Changes to the status of an application are usually not visible immediately within both portals. The data have to be synchronized first, which can take up to a few hours. Changes will be visible on the next day, at the latest.

Applications with the status „zurückgezogen“ (withdrawn) will not be considered. If you wish to edit and submit your application, log in application portal of Freie Universität Berlin. Here, you can edit and submit your application before the deadline.

As soon as applicants accept an offer, they are withdrawn from all other selection procedures. This action cannot be undone.

Once the request of deferment has been made, it cannot be taken back. The applicant loses the right to the allocation of a place of study for the semester in question. You have the possibility to apply for preferential admission for the next application period. Please read the information given on our websites.
