This lecture series covers both general and specialized aspects of modern Neuroethology, the science that investigates the neural circuits underlying natural behavior. The course will take you on a journey from the historical foundations of animal behavior research—such as Tinbergen’s four questions—to cutting-edge methodologies for identifying and quantifying natural behaviors and their neural basis. The lectures will emphasize the importance of a multispecies approach, highlighting the insights gained from studies that extend beyond traditional laboratory animals and human-centric tests. In addition, detailed instruction will be provided on the analysis of large-scale neural signals. As part of the course, each student will give an oral presentation of a research paper. Schließen
