Kommentar
The COVID-19 pandemic has been a reminder of the power of diseases have had over the lives of people for the past centuries. This seminar will concentrate on how concepts of health and disease have changed over time in Early America. We will examine how cultural, social and political institutions and norms shaped how people viewed diseases and what strategies they used to respond to them. Based on both primary and secondary reading, we will explore the interplay between cultural and social responses (and actors) and the ways in which knowledge was created about diseases. Schließen
