Migration in American History

Sebastian Jobs

Kommentar

In recent years, one of the most contentious in American politics has been immigration. However, many political arguments that have been brought forth during these debates are echoes of longer history that reaches all the way back to colonial times in North America. In our seminar, we will focus on major issues and events in the history of the United States’ immigration history, from the 17th century to the present. We will examine how political thoughts and cultural norms shaped the ways in which Americans viewed migration and the ways in which they tried to create American identities. Schließen
