SoSe 24: Anthropology of Social Movements
Vinicius Pedro Correia Zanoli
Kommentar
In this seminar, we will start with a brief introduction on interdisciplinary social movement theory. We will then move to anthropological and ethnographic approaches to social movements and other forms of collective action. One of our guiding questions is what anthropology as a discipline and ethnography as its main form of knowledge production have to offer to social movement theory. Moreover, following Arturo Escobar’s seminal work on Social Movement Anthropology, we will also focus on what anthropologists can learn from social movement theory.
