WiSe 23/24: The U.S. in the Global 1960s: Forms of Protest and Resistance
Sebastian Jobs
Kommentar
During the 1960s Americans witnessed the rise of several protest movements that either advocated for the political and cultural recognition of people of color or Indigenous people or for gay liberation. At the same time, especially young Americans voiced their consent to the United States’ military involvement in the Vietnam War and took the streets in protest marches. In this class we will investigate the goals and tactics of specific protest movements and how they informed each other. Moreover, we will interpret protest and resistance in the context of the global 1960s. Schließen
