The Holocaust consisted of a sequence on many different intermediate stages, which since 1933 included the social and legal exclusion of Jews, forced emigration, deportation and finally ghettoization, exploitation, and murder. In various countries and at different times, this sequence was often pursued simultaneously. Together, in this course, we will create a system to achieve clarity. You will first be able to comprehend these steps, then reconstruct how they affected those who were persecuted and be able to address questions to the motives of perpetrators and the non-Jewish environment. What scope of action existed for victims, perpetrators, and bystanders? Was it possible to foresee what the Nazis intended to do? What role did the war against Poland 1939 and the World War play in radicalizing anti-Jewish politics? What sources can provide answers to the questions? Schließen
