Eastern Europe: Introduction to Area Studies
Aleksandr Korobeinikov
Kommentar
This course offers an interdisciplinary introduction to Eastern Europe as a region shaped by different histories, political systems, unique cultures, and economic regimes. The course does not aim to define Eastern Europe in one way but invites students to explore the region through different disciplinary perspectives: from political power to informal economies, from migration to cultural life, from gender to decoloniality. Each session focuses on a specific theme and connects it to case studies from across the region – from the Baltics and the Balkans to Central Asia and the Caucasus. The course draws on both academic texts and visual materials (films, maps, memes, social media platform) and is designed to be accessible to students from all disciplines. No prior knowledge is expected. Schließen
