This research-oriented seminar explores how the internet is shaped, managed, and regulated at both the global and national levels. “Internet governance” refers to the rules, decision-making processes, and power structures that determine how the internet operates, from setting technical standards to protecting freedom of expression and ensuring cybersecurity.
We will examine key debates and actors in this field, including the discussions and outcomes of the 2025 World Internet Governance Forum. Students will participate in collaborative projects and produce a podcast episode on a chosen topic in internet governance, gaining both analytical and practical skills.
