ISCN Conference 2016 – An opportunity to present the UAS
Since 2014, the Freie Universität Berlin is a member of ISCN. Within this network, more than 80 universities are connecting and exchanging information and ideas on all levels of sustainability within the higher education area. Three of the five partners of the “University Alliance for Sustainability” (UAS) are also members of this network and use the conferences to connect and present the UAS activities.

From June 13 to June 15, representatives of Freie Universität Berlin participated in the 10th annual International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN) Conference at the University of Siena. Under the issue “Leadership for a Sustainable Future” participants discussed the necessity of equipping future leaders with a sustainable style of leadership and its factors of success. Therefore, diversely constituted sessions were held, treating the following issues:
- Managing a changing planet
- Managing societal change
- University-Private sector collaborations for a sustainable future
- Food sustainability at the micro and macro level
- Higher education’s contribution to actionable Sustainable Development Goals
