Improving the acceptance and visibility of biodiversity

This module uses various art projects to draw attention to biodiversity on campus and improve the acceptance and visibility of biodiversity. Another aim of the module is to train multipliers in teaching.

Sophia Kimmig is a writer, artist and ecologist with expertise on wildlife in urban habitats and conducted her doctorate on the ecology and behaviour of urban foxes. Her work focuses on interactions of animals with their environment and human-animal relationships. She is also engaged in science communication and nature advocacy, writes and illustrates popular science books and raises interest in and awareness of nature on the radio, on television, in public talks and guest lectures.

Florian Ruland is an ecologist, musician and artist exploring human-nature relationships and resilience in the global ecological crisis. He has experience of teaching related seminars since 2020.

Janet Wagner has three years of experience with the implementation of FUturist projects and has been head of the sustainability working group "GreenFUBib" at the FU Berlin University Library since 2021. Since June 2024 she has been working in the Mobility Management project at the FU Berlin's Sustainability and Energy Office. Volunteer in the core team Blühender Campus, in the Blätterlaube and at FUdsharing. Education for sustainable development for young professionals in libraries is her focus. Co-founder of #Libraries4Future and the Green Library Network.
