Roundtable with Sustainability Experts: Insights into Existing Initiatives and Best Practices
News from May 12, 2025
As part of the application process, it became evident that there are already many successful sustainability initiatives at Freie Universität Berlin. As part of the Living Lab “Climate FUture Weeks,” we wanted to tap into this expertise and invited dedicated stakeholders to a lunch meeting on April 28. In a roundtable format, participants engaged in a productive exchange on a range of topics.
In particular, there was an abundance of ideas related to the contents of the challenge, for which the 90-minute time frame was hardly sufficient. Both students and staff contributed numerous interesting suggestions, enabling the Living Lab team to formulate targeted challenges in the areas of mobility, nutrition, consumption, and energy.
The suggestions ranged from practical everyday tips to concrete measures and actions, which can be linked to the existing initiatives. Furthermore, participants discussed strategies for addressing and motivating individuals with differing levels of interest and engagement.
We would like to thank all the experts for their time and the valuable exchange of experiences, which will greatly enrich the implementation of the Climate FUture Weeks.
