Occasional (potted) plants and flower (bouquets) from offices and other rooms are bio-waste. The current structure of biowaste disposal at Freie Universität Berlin is still under construction. Disposal facilities for biowaste are not available everywhere. Please also see the information under Biowaste.

If very large plants, e.g. from staircases, are to be disposed of, please contact the Sustainability & Energy Office, Special Waste Disposal Team, directly or via your janitor to discuss the disposal route in individual cases.

The same applies if plant and soil waste is regularly generated in scientific facilities.
