Please note these latest planning steps regarding the FU-BEST Fall 2020 semester:

We have been given permission by Freie Universität Berlin, based on official regulations, to carry out the Fall 2020 semester, with prudent adjustments in view of public health and hygiene requirements. In view of the continued uncertainty regarding travel between the U.S. and Europe, we have decided to suspend our customary General Terms and Conditions of Business as follows:

Full payment of fees is still expected after admission. However, until July 20, we will issue a full refund of fees paid (minus bank transfer fees) in the following cases:

a) the participant is prevented from departing from the U.S. and/or entering Germany for purposes of study due to official, government-imposed restrictions, or

b) the program has to be cancelled due to an insufficient number of participants.

On July 20 (or before that date, if necessary), we will once again re-evaluate the feasibility of carrying out the program in accordance with our high academic standards and update admitted students accordingly.

Furthermore, in view of ongoing international travel uncertainty, we are ready to accept late applications for Fall 2020 until July 15. Subject to review on an individual basis and provided our program can progress as planned, completed application files may still be submitted to our office (fubest@fu-berlin.de).
