If I apply, when will I know whether the Spring 2022 semester can take place?

Our standard application deadline is November 1. By December 1 at the latest, a decision will be made by the program whether the Spring 2022 semester can take place as planned.

If the Spring 2022 semester is cancelled before its start, due to the pandemic, will I be reimbursed any fees already paid?

If such a cancellation is announced before the start of the semester, any fees already paid will be fully reimbursed.

Will I be reimbursed my fees if German/EU borders are closed to international travel?

If a renewed lockdown or other pandemic-related developments before the official starting-date of the semester cause a closure of German/EU borders, thereby preventing participants from travelling to Berlin, any fees already paid will be fully reimbursed.

Will I be reimbursed any fees if the program has to be cancelled during the semester?

If pandemic conditions cause a termination of the ongoing semester, instruction will shift online. Students who opt to return home at that point in order to continue their FU-BEST studies from abroad/overseas will be eligible for a refund of unused program accommodation fees, if these are still recoverable at that point in time.
