Talk: From scandal to reform: approaches to research integrity at a turning point on June 11, 2025 (in Englisch)
Martin Reinhart and Felicitas Hesselmann (RMZ, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin) This talk explores the historical evolution of scandals related to academic integrity and their implications for the relationship between science and politics. We argue that there are three distinctive waves of scandalization since the postwar era: […] Since the 2010s, the third wave shifted focus to concerns such as Open Science and reproducibility, giving rise to a mainly intra-scientific moral entrepreneurship that unfolds not along one-time scandals anymore, but as part of a continuous crisis discourse.

Kick-off workshop of the Legal Helpdesk Berlin (Open Research Office) on June 17, 2025
In the first workshop, we would like to compile pressing legal questions relating to open access and open research that regularly arise in practice. We want to collect these questions, systematize them, and consider what answers might or should look like. In addition to legal support, information materials (explanatory texts and videos) will also be produced during the course of the project. This and upcoming workshops will also serve to prepare these materials.
