Tim Kerkmann

At Humboldt University’s Institute of Asian and African Studies, Kerkmann explores how the Great Depression fueled independence movements in the British Empire between 1929 and 1939. His research draws on archival work in Ghana, Malaysia, and London.

Karoline Volkmann

Volkmann investigates how debates surrounding the Anthropocene and the nature/culture dichotomy are reflected in contemporary natural history museums and how they influence the creation of new exhibitions.

Antonia Ruhl

Ilya Sogolov is a researcher at the Center for Technology and Society (ZTG) at Technische Universität Berlin where he focuses on mobility cultures, sustainable urban transport, and the intersection of mobility and societal transformation.

Lukas Zaghow

Zaghow conducts research at Technical University Berlin on the organization and functioning of entrepreneurial ecosystems (EE) – an emergent concept in regional and urban studies for understanding enabling environments for entrepreneurship.

Hannah Grabietz

The Biologist is conducting research at Humboldt University on a needle-like structure used by bacteria to inject toxins into host cells. She is investigating how the proteins to be injected are selected and what role mRNA plays in this process.

Sinah Drenske

Drenske investigates how squirrels adapt to Berlin city life and which factors influence this. She works at the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research and is doing her doctorate at Technische Universität Berlin.

Charlotte Barth

Barth investigates the connection between symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder during the day and sleep disorders at night. She is associated to the Psychotraumatology working group at Charité’s Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy.
