Below is a list of selected funding bodies that support special initiatives during the doctorate or reimburse costs that may arise in connection with the doctorate:

• DAAD program “Kongressreisen” (in German only), apply at least 4 months/120 days in advance

• Dahlem Junior Host Program: Doctoral candidates and Postdocs in the Humanities and History and Cultural Studies Department can host visiting scientists for up to 8 weeks at FU Berlin

• Ernst-Reuter-Gesellschaft (alumni association of FU Berlin): Printing subsidies, conference travel, events and projects

• Many disciplinary societies support doctoral candidates with travel expenses, printing costs, etc.

• The women's representatives of the departments can support female doctoral candidates with travel, printing costs, etc., please get in contact

• Emergency care (KidsMobil) for children if childcare is unavailable at short notice, only for FU employees

• Open Access funding at Freie Universität Berlin

• Una Europa funding calls: Mobility and exchange, fellowships, seed funding, researcher workshops, etc.
